I think the Lottery is very relevant to today's society as several of the themes shown in the story are very common among people nowadays. for example, following the crowd can have disastrous effects. A lot of people just follow the crowd without even thinking of the consequences, and in the end, they end up in a disastrous, sticky situation where there is no escape. the Lottery also displays another side of human nature, as the villagers all want to get home quickly after the lottery is over, which shows how little they think about the death of the unlucky person who would be stoned to death (there is a hyperlink below to the Lottery in case u haven't read it before). It shows how people belittle the death of a person, they treat it as insignificant and forget about it completely. Overall, i think the story is very relevant to today.
